I will most likely never refuse a trip to New Orleans! It’s one of my favorite cities to explore, and every time I visit there are new places to discover! So far this year my husband and I have traveled there twice: once in April to see Radiohead (omg) and again in June for our friends’ elopement party! I decided to share the images from both trips in one post.
April
This trip was rather quick and the main priority was seeing Radiohead! We arrived into town Sunday afternoon and spent most of the evening perusing Magazine Street. The concert was on Monday and my husband and I had pit tickets, so we got to the Smoothie King center early evening to wait in line – it was well worth it as we were so close to the magic!!! We left on Tuesday after a delicious breakfast at one of our favorite restaurants (Surrey’s).
June
In June we had a bit more time to play! We rented an airbnb in Uptown with several friends who were there to celebrate as well! We arrived to New Orleans early afternoon on a Friday, and enjoyed some down time before the excitement of the weekend kicked into full gear! The rest of the crew arrived a couple of hours later and we all had a delicious dinner at Gautreau’s. The next day was the elopement party, which was an awesome celebration of love! There was a crawfish boil, delicious Southern fixins, and fantastic music by the Cha Wa Band! The after party took place along Frenchmen Street and went well into the wee hours (as you do in NOLA)! The next day was a yummy breakfast at Surrey’s Uptown (had to share the joy with our friends) before exploring the city. Then…y’all…for lunch…I had the best meal of my life at Shaya, a “Modern Israeli” restaurant that has quickly climbed to the top of the cuisine culture! I dreamed about this meal for days after…and I can’t wait to try more dishes! I urge you, next time you find yourself in NOLA, go to Shaya!
