The Big Eclipse of 2017 found me at Santa Rosa Beach! While we weren’t in the totality plane, it was still pretty bizarre seeing the beach at 85%! The seagulls were starting to roost, and you could remove sunglasses and not be blinded by the sand. I was super excited that my image of the eclipse turned out (as I just held the protective glasses in front of the lens of my camera and pointed up, ensuring I wasn’t looking directly at it).
These were shot with a Canon Sure Shot WP-1 waterproof 35mm film camera. I love it so much! It’s come along all of our kayaking and beach trips! I love how when it’s super humid, the images have a gloooow to them! It’s akin to the Diana or Brownie styles!
